Throughout its history, the Panama Canal has expressed the vision and determination of Panamanians. Since we assumed its administration under the Torrijos-Carter Treaties, we have demonstrated to the world our ability to manage it efficiently, transparently, and profitably, making it a vital source of development for the country.

Today we present a renewed vision for the next decade. The world faces new geopolitical realities, climate change, and trade volatility that demand long-term, ambitious yet flexible plans.

One of the greatest challenges is to ensure access to water: the Canal depends on increasingly variable rainfall. Therefore, the Rio Indio Lake project is essential for millions of people and for the sustainability of the waterway.

Our service model is also evolving. Shipping companies offer integrated logistics solutions, and the Canal must diversify its services, strengthen relationships with cargo owners, and add value beyond transit.

Our 2025-2035 vision includes port infrastructure, energy corridors, and logistics connectivity, with a portfolio approaching $8 billion in projects. These efforts go hand in hand with the ongoing modernization, ensuring greater security, efficiency, and competitiveness.

Panamanians are at the heart of this vision; whose talent and resilience support the third stage of this story: transforming the canal corridor into a diversified, competitive, and sustainable platform for Panama and the world. And just as the Canal opens its lock gates to global trade, Panama opens its arms to the world. We invite every visitor to discover a country where engineering and nature coexist in harmony, where culture and hospitality reflect the spirit of the Panamanians who made the successful management of the interoceanic waterway possible.
