This Complex was Created to Position Panama as a Leader in Organizing Events Regionally
It is located near the entrance of the Panama Canal and the Biomuseum. A construction easy to distinguish for its large size, avant-garde design, functional and state of the art technology that will soon host the most important conferences and conventions both local and international.
This complex was created to host commercial and entertainment events, which will favorably position Panama in the region, as one of the countries with the best infrastructure for hosting congresses and conventions. In addition to this, promotional packages will be sold in order for all participants to stay longer in the country to visit tourist places and shopping centers.
Currently the construction registers a 95% advance. China State Construction Engineering Corporation, is the company responsible for the project, and will be finishing works on floors and exterior to complete the work, with a value that exceeds 200 million dollars.
—Large Proportions—
The Amador Convention Center is a design under a minimalist concept, with a total construction area of 58,000 square meters and with an outdoor parking area with capacity for 1,700 vehicles, 200 under roofs and 18 exclusive bus seats. It consists of three buildings connected by corridors, which will host events of great magnitude, using the totality of 30 thousand square meters for the exhibition area. In general terms, its maximum capacity is 25,000 people at the same time and its construction is divided into four large areas: Grand Lobby, Exhibitions, Banquets and Docks. Its internal part has three halls for fairs and exhibitions that together has total area of 15,000 square meters – also flexible enough to create four meeting rooms – in addition to the 4,000 square meters of banquet areas. The CCA will become the largest convention center in Central America.
—Facilities—
The CCA will have a road that connects Amador with Panama City’s Coastal Belt and will reach Naos Island. It will also be connected to an expanded cruise terminal, new museums, residential communities and a marina.
Being established in Amador, its proximity to the Cuaseway makes it an ideal place to go and enjoy a pleasant and vibrant atmosphere. Anybody at the convention center can take walk along the Amador Causeway, or rent a bicycle to exercise and relax, while enjoying a sunset with a marine view. You can also visit restaurants with local cuisine with a large assortment of seafood and local and international dishes.
—Projections—
It is estimated that its inauguration will take place in the last quarter of 2019. While that happen development of the corporate image, promotion and marketing of the site will continue, also the public relations will be on, as well as communication with mainstream media and social networks. There will also be actions on achieving membership in chambers and associations of industries at national and international level, finish equipping the building, hiring and training of staff.
This stage where the commercial plaza is being promoted to create contracts and schedule the next events, will be supervised by the American company SMG, with great experience managing more than 70 shopping centers worldwide and who will be in charge of marketing the CCA in target markets such as Mexico, the United States and Europe.
For its part, Panamanian Tourism Authority (ATP) will promote tourism packages that will have services offered by the convention center, so that the economic impact is positive. Especially for the hotel sector located in Capital City, where the largest number of places for lodgings exists.
In a recent visit to the CCA, the administrator of the ATP, Iván Eskildsen, assured that there will be a coordination between the Tourism Promotion Fund and the SMG company to promote the center abroad.
It is estimated that for the first year of operation about 100 varied events will be held such as corporate congresses, meetings, banquets, consumer-oriented events among others, generating an estimated $18.2 million to the country.
