Walk Casco Antiguo
Discover this historic neighborhood considered a World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO. This district dates back to 1673 and features squares and cobblestone streets, surrounded by colorful buildings. Visiting all the sites in Casco Antiguo takes several days, so you have to visit on foot the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Golden Altar, the Canal Museum, the Mola Museum, the Bovedas and the Esteban Huertas promenade from where you will have the best views of the modern city. Of course, you have to try the gastronomy that is internationally recognized.
Enjoy Amador Causeway
It is one of the best places to watch the ships entering the Panama Canal and take photos of the city skyline. This sea route was built using the material extracted during the excavations of the Panama Canal, between 1904 and 1914, and for many years it served as a US military base. It extends 6 kilometers towards the Pacific Ocean connecting the mainland with the islands of Naos, Perico and Flamenco. Here you can walk, ride a bike, try the delicious cuisine of the restaurants and visit the Biomuseo, designed by the architect Frank Ghery.
Surround yourself with Nature in the Metropolitan Park
In the heart of Panama City, you find these 230 hectares park. The only tropical forest located right next to a metropolitan area in Latin America. It houses a great biodiversity of fauna, flora and trees that reach up to 35 meters in height.
Enter one of the 7 trails, including the Titi Monkey Trail where you will find a large number of monkeys of this type, or the path to the top of Cerro Cedro where you will enjoy panoramic views of the city.
Get to know the City on Metro
Get to know Panama City quickly, comfortably and coexist among the citizens of Panama. This transportation system is the only one of its kind in Central America. It has two lines, line one allows you to get to know the city center and passes through the most important shopping centers. Line two is completely elevated, it runs from San Miguelito to Tocumen, and where you can enjoy unique views of the city from above until you reach the international airport station.
Travel Back in Time in Panama La Vieja
This ancient settlement, declared a World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO, dates back to 1519, and was the first permanent European settlement in the Pacific.
As you explore this archaeological site you go back in time when you arrive at the Catedral Primada Basilica Santa Maria la Antigua de Panama, and several historical ruins. When you climb the bell tower, you will notice the contrast with modern city. At the end of the tour go to the artisan market, you will find very original souvenirs.
